With over 70,000 people attending on Saturday alone, getting to and from the course can feel like a race in itself. While Merseyrail puts on extra services, the reality of “Ladies Day” or “National Day” transport is often crowded platforms and long queues in your best formal wear.

Merseyrail runs a frequent service to Aintree, but “frequent” doesn’t always mean “comfortable.”
